ARC Mission Statement and Intent
It is ARCs Mission and Intent to serve the Industry Owned Railroad , Industry.
ARC intends to provide a much needed service for Industries who own, operate and maintain
private railroad sidings. ARC intends to connect Companies who must maintain private
railroad sidings with Contractors and Suppliers whose business it is to supply that
maintenance. In 1981 as a young company ARC was contracted to remove a 50 mile portion of
the old Monon Railroad, at that time railroad track parts and contractors were plentiful.
Immediately after railroad deregulation the U. S. Railroad Industry scraped nearly 3,000
miles of track a year. Over 97% of the 5000 Industries who ARC has polled in the last five
years, uses relay track material to build and maintain their privately owned railroad
siding, the largest amount of this material, is 50 years old or older. The Industries who
depend on their railroad depend on relay track material. Today railroads scrap less than
one-tenth as many miles as they did in 1981, based on supply and demand the price for high
quality relay track has increased in kind. It is ARCs mission to open new sources of
supply to provide industries a lower price for higher quality, in their railroad
investment.
